Could the two scouting organizations be viewed as some kind of religion?
Answer: No it takes more then dancing around the campfire to make a religion.

That is true, but further, Scouting has more of a military flavor than anything else. Besides dancing around campfires, you learn in Scouting to improve your mind, your physique, and be able to respond to needs as they arise around you. My favorite part of Scouting was learning first aid and outdoor survival.
